El río Ripoll es y ha sido un testimonio excepcional de la historia del Vallès Occidental. Desde la edad media el río ha jugado un papel fundamental en el desarrollo de la producción, la agricultura y la industria. Primero, con la ubicación de molinos harineros, que posteriormente pasaron a ser papeleros y traperos; y después con la instalación de los vapores. El río Ripoll ha sido también un lugar de intensa producción agraria tanto comercial como de autoconsumo.&nbsp; Es a partir de los años noventa cuando empieza a desarrollarse la conciencia ambiental que va volver a poner en el centro de atención la recuperación del río como espacio de encuentro entre la ciudad y e campo, a recuperar valores medioambientales y paisajísticos, ya entender el río también como lugar de ocio y paseo, integrándolo en la dinámica de la ciudad. Se plantea una reflexión sobre la cultura y la arquitectura de la ciudad. Los molinos construidos en la revolución industrial catalana ahora se encuentran en desuso, afrontando su eventual desaparición. Este proyecto propone recuperar estos espacios y crear una red de equipamientos que sigue el río Ripoll. En la actualidad el espacio es una necesidad. Rehabilitar para dar metros a la sociedad. Las antiguas fábricas se convertirán en los nuevos contenedores de producción, espacios de creación. La mayoría de los anchos muros de piedra y cerámica ha aguantado el paso del tiempo. Los forjados se han caído. Encontramos una arquitectura de límites que dará forma al proyecto como si fueran señales, arrugas y heridas sin cicatrizar. Se trabaja con una&nbsp; arquitectura de ruina, definido por espacios exteriores, geometrías ortogonales y cubiertas planas transitables. La vivienda está dirigida hacia la persona creativa, divide el espacio en dos, una mitad por trabajo y la creación y, en la otra, se emplaza la estancia, la cocina y el baño. En la vivienda se encuentra un espacio personal y de reflexión. Próximo a las viviendas, en otro volumen de madera igual a éstas, hay un taller compartido, pensado para dar lugar al trabajo cooperativo y simbiótico, necesario para un correcto&nbsp; desarrollo de la comunidad. Por eso entran en juego la pareja de materiales que sería el hormigón y la madera, donde,contradicciones entre éstas, hacen que la materialidad original entre en la conversación y se forme estetriángulo de texturas y personalidades contradictorias. La materialidad original, el hormigón imperfectopero simple y la madera, la exterior compleja y oscura y la interior simple y clara. La ruina se caracteriza por ser un exterior absoluto, el proyecto ha querido conservar esto y deja comoexterior el paso entre sus elementos, concentrando el calor en las partes importantes de éstos. Esto ayuda a una mejor optimización de las instalaciones, que busca ser un edificio ecológicamente sostenible y autosuficiente, con placas solares ubicadas en las cubiertas de las viviendas. <img
